Common problems

Q: Which problem is most common?

The widget not showing at all, and within that, the code not being on the page being viewed.

Q: Where do I find console errors?

F12 on Windows, Cmd+Option+J on a Mac, then the Console tab.

Q: Do these apply to every source?

Yes. Source-specific issues have their own pages.

Twenty pages covering everything that is not specific to one source or one platform.

What is here

Two halves. Setup and content is about getting the right reviews in. Display problems is about getting them to appear correctly.

These apply to all 71 sources and every platform, which is why they are written once rather than repeated.

Browse

Every page in this section, with the rest linked from each one.

Adding a review source

Most sources connect by pasting a link to your public profile on that platform.

Error while collecting reviews

Two error messages can appear when you add a source.

New reviews haven’t appeared yet

New reviews appear in the widget on their own, but not instantly.

Older reviews aren’t showing

The widget collects the 100 most recent reviews from each source, on every plan.

Filtering and sorting reviews

Filters decide which reviews appear in the widget.

Showing only reviews with photos

Two separate settings control this.

Letting visitors leave a review

Turn on the Write a Review button and visitors can leave a review without leaving your site.

Exporting your reviews

There is no option to export or download the reviews from a widget.

Source and review limits

One widget takes up to 100 sources, collects the 100 most recent reviews from each, and holds up to 1,000 manually added reviews.

One widget, different reviews per page

Dynamic Sources lets one widget display different reviews depending on the page it is on.

Widget isn’t showing at all

Six causes, in the order they are worth checking. Most cases are the first three.

Blocked by Content Security Policy

Your site has a Content Security Policy that blocks scripts from domains it does not know, and ours is one of them.

Works in one browser but not another

If the widget appears in one browser and not another, or works in incognito but not normally, a browser extension is blocking it — usually an ad blocker or a privacy extension..

Layout is broken, cut off or overlapping

Layout problems come from your site’s CSS interacting with the widget.

Live site looks different from the editor

If the live site looks different from the editor, the changes were not published.

Views limit reached or widget deactivated

Your widget stopped serving because the monthly view allowance ran out.

Showing sample or wrong reviews

Sample reviews mean no source is connected yet — every widget ships with placeholder reviews so you can see what it looks like.

Showing on the wrong pages or devices

Floating layouts have display rules: which pages to appear on, which to hide on, whether to show on desktop, mobile or both, and whether to appear instantly, after a delay or on scroll..

Floating badge sits in the wrong corner on mobile

On mobile, every floating badge layout displays in the bottom-left corner by default, whatever position is set for desktop.

Removing or pausing a widget

To remove a widget from a page, delete the embed code from that page.

How these pages are written

Answer first, then an ordered check sorted by how often each cause actually turns out to be it. Console error strings appear literally, because people paste them into a search box rather than describing them.

Each page also says what not to do — the wrong turn people commonly take on that specific problem, like reinstalling the code when the widget is simply out of view allowance.
