Google review link generator
What this link does
It opens the Google review dialogue for your business directly, with the star selector already on screen. Without it, a customer has to search for you, find the right listing among the similar ones, scroll to the reviews section and click Write a review — four chances to give up on something they were doing you a favour by starting.
The short form looks like g.page/r/…/review or search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…. Both work; the short one is easier to read out loud or print.
Where to put it
Anywhere the customer is already pleased with you and holding a phone. Order confirmation and thank-you emails, the last message of a support conversation, an SMS after a job is finished, a card in the bag, a sticker at the till.
For anything printed, a QR code is better than a link nobody will type — the generator is here. For emails, these templates are a starting point that does not sound like a form letter.
Asking without breaking Google’s rules
Google allows you to ask customers for reviews. What it discourages is asking only the customers you expect to be happy, and it prohibits offering anything in exchange — a discount, an entry into a draw, a free coffee.
The practical version: send the link to everyone, ask soon after the experience, and do not tell people what to write. More on asking for reviews, and if you are on Yelp note that its policy is different — it asks businesses not to solicit at all.
Then show the reviews you collect
The link brings reviews in. Getting value out of them means putting them where buyers are deciding, which is your own site rather than a Google listing they may never look at. A reviews widget does that part, and there is a free plan.
