How to add Google reviews to WordPress

Build the widget, copy one line of code, and paste it into a Custom HTML block. About five minutes, and no developer.

  • Add your Google reviews by hand in the editor

  • Pick a layout and match the colours to your site

  • Copy the embed code

  • In WordPress: Appearance → Editor, or any page in the block editor

  • Add a Custom HTML block and paste the code

  • Save, and it is live

What is different about Google on WordPress

WordPress is where most Google reviews widgets end up, and the plugin route matters here more than anywhere else: installing from the WordPress.org repository means updates arrive through the dashboard with everything else rather than as a snippet nobody remembers editing.

Where to put the reviews in a WordPress site

Inside a post or page with a Custom HTML block, in a sidebar widget area, or site-wide through the footer.

Full-width sections suit carousel and grid layouts; narrow columns and sidebars suit a badge or a list. Floating badges can be limited to particular pages and to desktop or mobile.

When it does not show up

A caching plugin serving the old page, or a security plugin stripping the script. Clear the cache first, then check the plugin.

If the widget appears in the editor but not on the live site, the change was previewed rather than published. The WordPress troubleshooting page goes through the rest in order.

What it costs

The free plan runs on a live WordPress site — a plan, not a trial, with no expiry and no card at signup. Paid plans are priced by monthly views and widget count. Websites are unlimited on every plan.
