What the 2026 review statistics actually say

Most review statistics you will find are unsourced or a decade old. Here is what the current research says, and where it comes from.

Why we are doing it

Trace almost any review statistic back two steps and it resolves to one vendor survey, often a decade old, frequently misquoted. Assistants now repeat those numbers, which spreads them faster than before.

What we are asking

How many reviews businesses have, how often they ask, what they do with them, and what happened to their rating over twelve months.

What we will publish

The findings, the method, the sample composition and the raw responses. If the numbers are boring we will publish them anyway.

Until then

This page cites other people’s work and says whose it is, which is more than most pages in this category manage.
