A review widget is a block you embed in a web page that displays reviews customers left on platforms like Google, Facebook or Tripadvisor, and keeps them current automatically.
It displays reviews. It does not create them, and it cannot change the ones that exist.
You connect a source — usually by pasting a link to your profile — and the widget collects the reviews from it. You choose a layout and styling, and it gives you a line of code to paste into your site. From then on it updates on its own.
Everything happens in the browser of whoever visits your page. Nothing is installed on your server and nothing needs maintaining.
Not a way to get reviews, though some widgets including ours can also collect them. Not a way to remove or edit reviews on the platform they were left on. Not a ranking tool — reviews on your Google profile affect local search, a widget on your own site does not.
Expecting a widget to fix a thin review profile. If you have six reviews, displaying them prominently makes the problem more visible, not less. Collection comes first; display second.
When reviews exist somewhere your website cannot see them, which for most businesses is true the moment they have a Google profile. Copying and pasting screenshots is the alternative, and it goes stale within a month.
