The short answer
On Squarespace the usual cause is the editor preview — Code blocks do not always render there. Save and view the live page before concluding anything is wrong.
The other cause is a plan that does not allow custom code.
Check in this order
View the live page — Code blocks frequently show a placeholder in the editor. This accounts for most reports.
Your plan — custom code requires a Business plan or above. On a Personal plan the Code block is unavailable or inert.
Code Injection — for site-wide placement, check Settings → Advanced → Code Injection and that the code is in the header, saved.
Cache — Squarespace caches aggressively. Hard-reload, or check in a private window.
Placement
A Code block appears only on the page containing it. For a floating badge everywhere, Code Injection is the route.
Still missing
Send support the live page URL. A site-wide password needs including, or the page cannot be inspected.
