Most sources connect by pasting a link to your public profile on that platform.
Google can’t find my business
There are three ways to connect a Google source: business name, business name together with the address, or a Google Place ID.
The short answer
There are three ways to connect a Google source: business name, business name together with the address, or a Google Place ID. An address on its own is not supported and will not find anything.
A maps.app.goo.gl share link also works. A share.google link does not.
Try them in this order
Business name — works for most, and fails when the name is generic or shared with other places.
Business name with the address — the reliable fallback, and the one to use for a common name.
A Maps share link — open your listing in Google Maps, Share, Copy Link. The supported format starts maps.app.goo.gl. The newer share.google short links are not supported.
Place ID — unambiguous, and what the Shopify flow asks for directly. What a Place ID is and how to find yours.
If none of them work
Check that the listing is verified and publicly visible — search for it in an incognito window. An unverified or suspended profile cannot be read by anything, including this.
If the profile is visible and nothing works, send support the profile link and the widget installation code.
